Australian Graduate Program 2020
Work with us on solving economic issues that matter
How can drones change the way goods are delivered to consumers? How has the nbn impacted small business and female entrepreneurship? How can we create secure, fulfilling jobs for all Australians in an increasingly automated world? These are just a few examples of the questions we tackle at AlphaBeta.
AlphaBeta is a fast-growing firm and we are looking for talented and ambitious graduates to start in our Australian offices (Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra) in 2020.
We are open to undergraduate and postgraduate candidates from all academic backgrounds. We look for people who are intellectually curious, want to make a real impact, and have a passion for using data to solve economic and public policy problems. Our ideal candidates show evidence of intellectual rigour, comfort with quantitative analysis, strong interpersonal skills, and proactive behaviour.
Life as a grad
Our Graduate Consultants start life at AlphaBeta with an intensive week of training that has been specially designed to introduce a new cohort of graduates to consulting. As a group, you will undertake a mock project, with training sessions on topics like managing workstreams, data modelling, qualitative research methods, and report writing to guide you along the way.
Your role in the firm
Our graduates are an integral part of the firm. You will work on project teams that serve a range of government, non-profit and commercial clients. You will work on a diverse range of projects across industries and topics, with senior executives and leaders from some of the most influential organisations in Australia.
You will be given significant responsibility and ownership over your work and are expected to play a key role in the project team. Your work will be a critical part of the problem-solving process and will involve: applying quantitative, analytical and modelling skills to uncover insights; drafting client presentations; and presenting at client meetings.
AlphaBeta strives to be the best environment for exceptional people, and we place the highest priority on your professional development. We provide formal and informal training, and every consultant is paired with a mentor from our leadership team who will help you nurture and develop your skills, meet your goals, and stay at the edge of your comfort zone.
The process is simple. Our graduate recruitment process involves 3 stages over 3 weeks:
Stage 1: Submit your online application
The online application process involves two online tests: a 30-minute multiple choice section; and an untimed short-answer test. Please leave at least 1 hour to complete the tests.
You’ll also need to upload your CV and academic transcript. Any incomplete applications will not be processed further.
Our graduate applications will open on 21 February and close on 11:59pm Saturday 23 March.
Stage 2: Group interviews
If your application is accepted, you will be invited to a group interview, where you’ll be asked to complete a group case study, individual test, and a short one-on-one interview. The group interviews will be held between 3-5 April.
Stage 3: Final round interviews
If you are successful in the group interviews, you will then have two one-on-one interviews with our senior leadership team. These will be case interviews in which you will be asked to solve a problem based on an actual project. Final round interviews will be held between 10-12 April.
If you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to receiving your application.
