Engagement Manager (Canberra office)

AlphaBeta Advisors is currently recruiting an Engagement Manager for its Canberra Office. Our Canberra office is located in Yarralumla, close to client offices, transport, and cafes.

As the Engagement Manager, you will lead day-to-day projects with clients. The Engagement Manager is the “conductor of the orchestra”, leading a small group of talented consultants and coordinating with our partners and clients to successfully deliver the project. This will include leading the problem-solving process (including structuring the issues to be investigated, finding creative ways to solve them, and helping the team to conduct the analyses); managing the process of the project (e.g., ensuring key milestones are met), coaching team members and junior clients; and serving as a trusted advisor to senior clients.

Essential Skills/Expertise

  • A post-graduate degree (eg MBA, Masters, PhD) with a strong academic record
  • 3-5 years experience in top-tier consulting firm and/or experience in government
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong academic record in an undergraduate Bachelor degree
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including experience leading teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • A passion for problem solving and interest in business, economics and public policy problems

Desirable Skills/Expertise

  • Background in economics, data analysis or applied quantitative analysis
  • Experience in client or stakeholder management
